St Agnes PU College organized a PTA Annual General meeting on August 5th, 2022 at 3.15 in the auditorium. The purpose of the meet was to involve the parents in the progress of their wards.
Clarity and communication are integral to the smooth functioning of an institution and parents and teachers play a pivotal role in this. The progress and development of students depend on them working in close tandem.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song. A PPT exemplifying the strides made by the college and highlighting the achievements of the students was screened for the benefit of the parents.The Principal SrNorine Dsouza welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest Mrs Preethi Dsouza, Assistant Professor, Department for Post Graduate Studies & Research in Commerce, Mangalore University. Mrs Jyothi Pinto, Treasurer, PTA presented the budget for the year 2022-23. The toppers of the II PU Annual Examination 2022 Ms Swathi, Ms Shifali, Ms Navyashree, Ms Vinisha and Ms Apoorva were felicitated for their spectacular performance in the exams. The audience applauded Ms Apoorva who is visually impaired for her remarkable achievement in the Annual Exam. The subject teachers of the toppers were also honoured on the occasion.
The chief guest Mrs PreethiDSouza in her address to the audience exhorted the parents to adopt a positive approach and recognize that children need care and attention. Her main thrust was on the characteristics of a parent-child relationship. She spoke about the overuse of technology and how parenting is being sidelined as a result. She highlighted the need to look at every issue from a holistic perspective, taking the needs and well-being of the family members into consideration.
Mrs Chaitanya, Dept of Physics compered the programme, Mrs Venitia, Dept. of Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks. Sr Dr Lydia AC, Joint Secretary, St Agnes Institutions, Vice Principal, Sr Janet Sequeira, Mr Ravi Bhat, PTA Vice President, PTA Executive Committee members, Mr Mathew, Secretary, PTA and the faculty graced the occasion.
