On account of Deepavali, various competitions such as Elocution, Drawing and Lantern making were organized under the leadership of the politician Shri Ivan Dsouza in Town Hall at 3 pm on 26th October, 2023.
Both 1stand 2nd PUC students from St Agnes PU College participated whole heartedly in the competitions. The event started with students registering for their respective competitions. In the Lantern making competition they had to make the lantern at home and display it in the Town Hall.
The drawing and elocution competitions started at 3.30 pm. The participants were called to the stage according to their serial number for Kannada, Tulu and English elocution competitions.
The students set the stage on fire with their confidence and flair. The students from all the colleges were at their best. The competitions were a fusion of talent, imagination and creativity. The stage programme commenced at 5 pm. Shri Ivan Dsouza addressed the gathering and stressed on how these competitions can inspire the youth to gain knowledge about Indian culture and traditions. Other guests also spoke about the importance of Deepavali following which the results were announced. It was heartwarming to know that amidst tough competitionApoorva Shetty of II PCMB āCā won 2nd place in the Tulu Elocution Competition.
