The department of Commerce had arranged for a visit to Achal Industries in Baikampady on 23rd of November 2017. A total of 120 students along with 5 lecturers witnessed the complete working of the cashew factory right from boiling of whole cashews, shelling, cooking, peeling, grading and packing. With a workforce of around 400 employees, 90% of these being women, Achal Industries highlighted the increased presence of women in industries. It was a good experience for the students, most of whom were exposed to this form of learning for the first time.
