St Agnes PU College Day for the year 2017-18 was held on the 5th of December 2017 at 5.00 pm. The Chief Guest for evening Dr Sabeeha Bhoomigowda, Vice Chancellor, Akkamahadevi Women’s University Vijayapur was welcomed with a guard of honour lead by the NCC cadets and the College Cabinet. The Chief Guest was accompanying by the College Principal Sr Shamitha and PTA Vice President Mrs Anita Dehnugar. Ms Maria Dsouza, Lecturer in statistics compeered the formal programme, whilst the vote of thanks was rendered by Mrs Shailaja, Lecturer in Kannada. Dr Sabeeha appreciated the growth of the College and spoke about the need to develop independent and critical thinking skills so that women have the confidence to voice their opinion which is of paramount in a pluralistic and diverse society of India. The formal programme was followed by the cultural performances where the students presented a wide range of items which included folk dances of different states, French songs, Orchestra, Kannada skit on social values and a tableau on the life of Mother Veronica founder of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation. The programme ended highlighting the completion of 150 years of the Congregation
