Teachers’ Day was celebrated at St Agnes PU College in a unique manner this year. The countdown began in earnest almost a week before the red-letter day with a slew of programmes organized by the students to make their teachers feel special.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in cyberspace this year in the wake of the ongoing worldwide pandemic. This did not deter the students however and they conducted several exciting games like Bingo, Retro fashion show, Mind Maze, Quiz, tongue twisters, etc. to entertain the teachers as a token of their respect, affection and gratitude. The faculty was pleasantly surprised by the ingenuity and confidence with which the students planned and executed the various activities on a virtual platform. The students acknowledged the role played by teachers in helping them learn and grow, and mentoring them during this tough phase in the aftermath of the coronavirus. The students also appreciated the whole-hearted participation of the teachers. It was a fun-filled and congenial week which culminated on September 5, with more entertainment in the form of videos and collages and announcements of prizes won by the faculty members.
The PTA members spared no effort in showing their appreciation to the teachers for making the transition to online teaching and for being a beacon of hope and a source of motivation in these challenging times.
The teachers were absolutely floored by the resourcefulness of the students and their thoughtful gesture. The Principal Sr. Norine, the Vice Principal Sr. Janet and the faculty thanked the students and the PTA members for enlivening the occasion with their meaningful programmes.
